So I don’t remember if I ever did an update on all those crazy symptoms I was having. As for not being regular, I know what was going on and that my friends is a lovely condition called IBS. I’m just fortunate enough to have that handy little gem the rest of my life. For the sake of not putting to much tmi in this post I will not go into any other tidbits of info. Your welcome in advance.
As for the headaches that was a tricky thing to figure out. Dr. Grunzke (the coolest 80something year old I know) would have been so proud of me using all the things he taught me. I did a few correlational studies to see if I could pinpoint the trigger. I tried exercise; no dice. It didn’t matter if I actually did exercise or not – the headaches were still there.
Then I tried surroundings: work, g’s house, my house. I thought maybe it was some new dogs? New house? Something blooming at g’s house? My dogs? My own funk? Once again no dice… Weekends or weekdays no matter where I was – the headaches were still there.
At this point I was getting real irritated. What the mess could be causing them??? So then I tried watching my food log to see if there was something I was partaking in everyday I had the headache that I was just not mentally registering. Up to this point I was just thinking back through the day and trying to find a connection but when I finally looked at the log there it was. Instantly. How could I have not noticed? Literally 8 days in a row I had drank a propel at some point in the day. Mostly after exercising but it was always there. (I had taken the liberty after 3 days of headaches to start logging them on my calendar. Once again Dr. G, see I did pay attention in class). At this point it seemed like a perfect fit but I knew I needed to do something to test this theory. I went 4 days with no propel and then the next day drank another one. Boom. Headache that afternoon.
So, I have become nancy dru and solved my own case. I figured there must be something in the artificial sweetener that my body is like heck no. No ma’am we aren’t wanting this around us. Stop feeding it to us, no you won’t? Fine. HEADACHE as punishment! [Yes this is how I communicate with myself in my own head] It could however be something else in the drink. Or it could just be the placebo effect. Who the heck knows…. But for safe keeping I’m skipping out on the headhurtingjuice just in case.
I guess that’s all for now. G just got real red in the face and real still. Cue diaper crazy explosion-ness. (Man all you grammar nazis are going to have a cow with this post)
