I completely forgot about this blog to be honest. Life happened. It has been over 11 years since my last post and boy has a bunch happened.

Baby #1 came along in 2017. This is Meatball. He came about 2 months after we went to Scotland. I think it must have rubbed off on him because he came out with a HEAD full of red hair and it has never gone away.

Baby #2 came in 2020. This is Chip. She came right before the world shut down for Covid. What a wild ride her first year of life was.

In 2021 my FIL sold his company of convenience stores, the only adult job my husband had ever known. And he got into cattle. We moved onto the outskirts of the city onto 1000+ acres of land and started learning how to be cattle ranchers. THIS has been the most fun transition in my adult life and I LOVE doing it with my family. While it comes with many challenges, it helps my kids learn so much hands on knowledge in our homeschooling journey.

Then came the giant dog, Dude.

And the chickens. What a labor of love animal husbandry is. We have had so much heart break and joy and everything in between with owning birds.

And then the bottle calves. We’ve now had the privilege of taking care of 6 bottle calves in our yard. The 2024-2025 calving season brought us Leroy Brown, Snowball and Milkshake. 2025-2026 brought us Peanut, Chippy and Bluebell. We can’t wait to see what is around the corner for us this year.

And this right here was the hardest of all. Within 3 years I lost my last 3 living grandparents. My grandmother in December of 2022, my grandfather in September of 2023, and my Pawpaw in December of 2024. And boy was this rough. There was a lot of other things going on at the same time. And this was the END of what I could handle.

But this man right here, has been with me through it all. He has held me together in all seasons of life these last 11 years. I am thankful for him today more than the day we got married.

So anyway, that is the briefest of updates from these last 11 years. I think this blog will end up being for me. I’ve never been good at journaling or keeping up with things daily but I like the idea of something that is mine to keep up with my life as it is happening.
