Some sweet friends of mine from church gave me permission to share this on my blog. [names have been changed for their protection]

Joseph & Kathryn are 20-somethings from my church who have also felt the call to missions this upcoming year. They will be moving to Central Asia in August and living there for I believe 10 months (through the end of the 2012/13 school year.) Joseph is actually there for the next couple days on a trip and has been able to get some good opportunities for scouting work out while he is there. This was on his FB page this last week: “The job hunt was very positive today! I met some really cool people and drank a whole lot of tea. I feel pretty confident that there will be a job lined up by sometime this summer at one of the 3 schools we had a positive meeting at.”

They will be working with another family (T&L) and their 5 children. While living there Joseph will be working (I believe teaching ESL) and being involved with some things with T in country (I’m not sure of specifics and don’t want to give super detailed information anyway because of the location they will be) and Kathryn will be working with some friends in the home. She will be helping a sweet wife in homeschooling the children and around the home so L can get to know the people she is with, and learn more of the native language and be more involved in their tasks.

The Lord has just really opened the doors for them in finding Joseph a possible job already, and for financial support from our church in an amazing way. By God’s amazing hand, our church raised a very large excess in our Missions offering this last year. Joseph and Kathryn will be able to be financially supported for the 10 months from this overflow. HOW AMAZING!

I asked Kathryn for some specific prayer requests and this is what she said last night:

• Pray that Joseph will be able to get a work visa for their stay.
• Pray that when Joseph comes back this week that they can find a place that he can be ESL certified in a rather short amount of time.
• Also pray that the cost of this ESL certification will not be costly.
• Pray that they can find a reliable renter for their home for the 10 months they will be gone.
• And keep them in prayer until they leave in August, there is a lot going on in a short amount of time.
