So I was beyond blessed to be part of Chris and Alaura’s wedding this past Saturday. It was beautiful and God honoring to say the least. After getting to the church I spent the last few hours with Ms. Alaura Cook and the rest of the bridesmaids taking pictures and spending time in the parlor with her mom. It was a sweet time. I’ve never seen her more calm or more sure that this WAS the will of the Lord for her life. It was precious. We had some good laughs taking pictures and making jokes on the way to the sanctuary. I’m pretty sure I was more nervous during the whole day that Alaura was. Chris cried when she came down the isle and while they were exchanging vows, which got me super choked up. I had to stare at pastor Shawn or Ryan the whole time or I was going to be a lost cause.
The reception was sweet and simple. Just like them. They were both absolutely glowing the whole time and beyond ready to get the heck out of the church and on the way to the honeymoon. They just got back today. :) so sweet. While I’m so happy for them, I know everything has changed. She’s in a new season of life. Things are going to be different. And that alone makes me sad about the whole thing. I hate feeling the way I do because I’m not jealous or mad for their love, I’m just longing to have something like that in my life. I don’t know… It’s just difficult to see so many marriages starting around me while I stay in this season of life. Anyway. Bleh. Sorry.
Monday was Valentine’s day [which I just cannot stand] but it’s also been 1 year since we put my Buster man down. It was sad. I cannot believe its been that long. And I still miss him.
On another note, Grafton has been sick the last 2 days. And Elynn was teething. And G was teething. And I didn’t know HOW I was going to make it through yesterday. He suddenly after lunch yesterday starting being un-characteristicly clingy and whinny. And then his fever spiked at around 101. So at that point we didn’t think it was just the teeth. (which by the way, that last one broke through sometime last night so now he’s up to 6) G went to the doctor today and he just has a virus. E isn’t going to come tomorrow either just because it is contagious to other children. It’s been a tough week but it sure has shown me a lot of things [like I’m not ready for my own children, and this WAS a God thing because I couldn’t have done it on my own] and given me a nice test for patience. I’m ready for little man to feel better so we can get back to lots of fun play time, and smiles and happy days.
