These quotes caught my eye and I wanted to share them. I was reading a book about grace at work today, (“Grace Givers”) it was like little stories of grace in peoples lives with one another and with them and God.

  • It is the duty of every Christian to be Christ to his neighbor.  — Martin Luther
  • Trying to do the Lord’s work in your own strength is the most confusing, exhausting, and tedious of all work. But when you are filled with the Holy Spirit,  then the ministry of Jesus just flows out of you.  — Corrie Ten Boom
  • God uses people to perform His work. He does not send angels. Angels weep over it, but God does not use angels to accomplish His purposes. He uses burdened, broken-hearted, weeping men and women.  — David Wilkerson
  • When we step out in faith and offer all we have, God will use it in powerful ways. How much is enough? Just what we have when God is with us!  — Jane Douglas White
  • The wintry portions of my life are those which often give birth to a deeper understanding of who you created me to be, O God.  — Penny Tressler
  • It is not the possession of extraordinary gifts that makes extraordinary usefulness, but the dedication of what we have to the service of God.  — Frederick William Robertson
  • More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.  — Alfred, Lord Tennyson
  • You must live with people to know their problems, and live with God in order to solve them.  — P. T. Forsyth
  • I have found that if, instead of praying for my own comfort and satisfaction, I ask the Lord to enable me to give to others, an amazing thing happens – I find my own needs wonderfully met. Refreshment comes in ways I would never have thought of, both for others, and then, incidentally, for myself.  — Elisabeth Elliott
  • We must move from asking God to take care of the things that are breaking our hearts, to praying about the things that are breaking His heart.  — Margaret Gibb
  • Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you’re doing the impossible.  — St. Francis of Assisi
  • There is but one way to tranquility of mind and happiness, and that is to account no external things thine own, but to commit all to God.  — Epictetus
  • Teach us, Lord, to serve You as You deserve, to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labor and not to ask for any reward save that of knowing that we do Your will.  — Ignatius Loyola
  • Don’t be afraid to go out on a limb. That’s where the fruit is.  — H. Jackson Brown
  • Grace binds you with far stronger cords that the cords of duty or obligation can bind you. Grace is free, but when once you take it, you are bound forever to the Giver, and bound to catch the spirit of the Giver. Like produces like, grace makes you gracious, the Giver makes you give.  — E. Stanley Jones

I know that is a lot, but I did like them all. Grace is a beautiful thing and I can’t thank God enough for it.
