Check the Kenya page! I updated that with money info, schedules and prayer requests.
May 31st is the money due date for anyone wanting to give for the trip (if you need an address let me know). Anything given after that will be accepted and will be used for donation to mission work, help to buy church supplies/pay for church repairs and or buy bibles in bulk to place in the KTC (Kambakia Training Center) so the people can purchase them at a reasonable price. If you want to donate money that will be use specifically for these purposes feel free to pass it to me and let me know it is specifically for this reason.
I leave so soon (34 days) and I am terrified. You would think since this was a returning trip for me I would be more comfortable about it than I was last year, WRONG. I know it’s just my own flesh ruling me, but either way I am having a hard time shaking these feelings of uneasiness. I am no where near having the money that I need, so I’m looking into getting a loan for what I need left in the next week or so. I know this is a good lesson for me in trusting the Lord and going out on faith but I am still nervous about it all. I know it’s because of the economy being the way that it is, but it STINKS! I will be meeting my sister’s fiancé and I am excited about that, if I could find a way to go to the wedding in December I would be there.
The semester is over [hallelujah] but I have no clue how I did, I still owe Faulkner $441 before I can get my grades. Why does money have to be such a struggle? I hate it and I’m sure it only gets worse as I grow up. On that note it does look like I will be graduating for sure in May of 2010 and I am thinking about starting the countdown already. ;) Even though I have NO clue what I want to do, how encouraging is that?!?! But that’s no big.
I am going to the eye doctor this afternoon to get my eyes checked out and to see if I can get some issues I’ve been having finally under control. I am not sure if my eyes are bad enough that I need all the time glasses or just reading glasses, but either way I need to get it checked out and the GREAT TSUNAMI of May cancelled my appointment last week.
I decided to teach 3 yr old Sunday school again next year and man is it going to be crazy? [Plus Mrs. Kem was really happy she didn’t have to find a replacement for me.] The normal number of kids they have each week is bigger than what we have in our group this year. It will be fun! I can’t wait for it! Plus the baby wave at church is not slowing down; we have had 2 new pregnancies announced in the last 2 weeks. I love kids! Thank God for newlyweds.
p.s. did I mention that I am very much enjoying my singleness?? If not then I just feel the need to share that. I was so focused a couple months ago on not being alone that I didn’t realize how much I like being single. I LOVE not being focused on specific things but just being able to relax and have fun. I know that was random but I needed to say it real quick.
I’ve picked up an old book that I am reading again, its called “A Wrinkle in Time” by Madeleine L’engle. I don’t remember much of it because I was in Jr. High when I read it but it’s been good again so far. Plus I’m reading a book called “Refuge” that I am borrowing from my boss based on a true story written by missionaries from Africa that escaped the gorilla warfare that broke out within the past couple years or so. I’m going to have a lot of reading time on the plane and at night while I’m overseas… does anyone have any good reading suggestions?
